Social Media and friendship: Navigating relationships during COVID-19
The rise in popularity of social media over the past few years coupled with the decline of in-person interaction during the pandemic means children and teens are connecting with their peers behind a phone screen now more than ever. Spotting kids suffering from pandemic stress
The pandemic caused increases in pediatric mental health issues, but just because kids are back in school doesn’t mean these mental health problems will go away. In a recent Q&A, Dr. Carol Weitzman, a developmental-behavioral pediatrician, breaks down adolescent behaviors that signal grief, ways to start a conversation with a child and when to seek professional help.

Oct. 10-16 was OCD Awareness Week and at CHOC, we believe awareness starts with education. We encourage the mental health advocates of our community to take some time to use our resources to learn about OCD in children and start spreading awareness.
